Banner Exchanges are the cheapest and easiest way of getting quality advertising for your website. The principle is quite simple; sign up with a banner exchange, place some HTML code in a suitable position on your webpage, and then upload one of your own banners on to the banner exchange. Every time someone visits your page, the banner exchange system 'detects' that a banner has been displayed on your website, and this earns you a credit. This credit then allows a certain number of displays of your own banner on other sites in the exchange network.
Banner exchanges differ in several ways. Some give you '1:1' credits (every time you display a banner, your banner is displayed once somewhere else), others '2:1' (every two banners you display, your banner is shown once). Obviously, a 1:1 banner is the ideal. A further difference is in the use of affiliates. Some exchanges encourage you to 'recruit' other webmasters into the system; and when they sign up and start displaying banners, you get a percentage of their credits. |
